I wondered one day if it would be possible to make a garment without taking a gauge swatch. After all gauge swatching is a bug bear for a lot of people. And some yarns just don't hit standard gauges easily. It would also mean you could pick any yarn out of your stash and cast on for instant gratification. So I started playing with ways to grow a sweater without having to start with a known measurement - and from this my gaugeless lady cardigan - and then this sweater were born. Its fun, and can be knit in any weight or type of yarn and is intended as a blank canvas pattern for changing at will - you can do it in any stitch pattern or change the edge treatments at will.
