    About

I liked the pattern and was working on the cardigan and had made the sleeves ready to see together but I liked the way the sleeves looked and thought shame that it wasn't a sleeveless design.

Then, as I thought about it, decided that I would add a crochet border edge with button holes, then section of the sleeve area for six buttons on each sleeve plus six down the front. I made it so that if the parent wanted, they could use the front but as a fold down edge. I also reinforced the button holes as the pattern design was loose. I used blue wool to go with the buttons.

Perfect cardigan adaptation, as during cooker summer days, the child can wear the cardigan to keep their chest warm but when it gets colder in the evenings, just button on the sleeves..

To go with the cardigan, I also made a timber pants, booties and mittens from the Bouncing babe layette pattern - By Uyvonne Bigham plus a Patons Bonnet.
