      Hi Holly,
Lovely work on the sweater! I bought the pattern to make for my daughter (who also happens to be 5'8") but am a bit concerned about the fit around the upper arm. In the pattern photos it looks kind of bunchy/boxy. How do you find the fit of the upper sleeve?

They are loose but not massively bat wing or anything. But I wouldn't say boxy. It hangs in a way that they don't sit out or anything. My ribbing is tight though, so a looser ribbing may have allowed it to sit even neater. Mine probably looks more boxy due to that ribbing too. It's difficult to know whether someone else will like it, but honestly mine don't sit like balloons or with loads of excess material hanging when my arm is lifted.

@Holly C: Thank you, Holly. That makes sense. It can be so hard to tell from photos sometimes. I was concerned about underarm bulk so am reassured. Looks like my daughter and I will be going yarn shopping!

Holly it looks lovely, Are you happy with the fit? I have this pattern and some yarn to do it in my stash. I am always last on the list.

I continued the body to about 12 inches underarm rather than just the 6 as I don't like cropped stuff on me, so at 5ft 8, 12 inches sits on my hip. It is a medium (34F chest, so 40 inches) and is great across the chest. The ribbing on my sleeves is quite tight, but I think that's my working rather than the pattern, so if I made it again personally I'd probably continue the sleeve for longer and have a smaller ribbed section or rib the cuffs with the same size needle I used for the rest (but again I think I was just working far too tight at that one section and anyone more experienced with on-the-round knitting probably wouldn't have these same problems). I really like it and definitely considering another!

@Holly C: Thank you for you advice Holly I will definitely make it longer even though I am fiarly short. I have tiny wrists so I am sure I won't have problems there. I just have to fin time to knit it.
