Every year my dad would put a old sock out on Christmas Eve and delight his children and later grandchildren when he would find a potato, an onion, a boiled egg and a tin of condensed milk. We never grew tired of this. Dad died 5 years ago and I will recreate this again with my stockings for my adult children this Christmas. They will also receive the 'naughty' gifts.
With left over yarn I am going to have a go at Marie Wallin's Christmas Nordic stocking. I have started but it won't be ready for Christmas
