    About

A cover for a hot water bottle is a lovely Christmas present, more about the time spent than the cash. This snug fitting design appealed to me over the more chunky ones, and I liked the ribbed neck instead of using a drawstring or other finish. You can find the pattern at londonleo.blogspot.co.uk

    Measurements

Notes: I followed Eve’s instructions and sizing exactly and it fitted my bottle perfectly (19x27cm plus a flared neck with max circumference 23cm). She also has detailed instructions for modifying to fit any bottle size. I used Judy’s magic cast on for a completely invisible bottom up cast on, and knit in the round with magic loop with a 80cm cable. Both of these techniques were new to me and I used videos by Knit Purl Hunter on YouTube (her videos are exceptionally easy to follow and made sense on the first attempt). I switched to DPNs for the neck. I particularly liked the way that reducing for the top shoulders gave a neat little 3D quality to the shaping.
