    About

This is the second bee I've made using this pattern. The first one (see pic two) has turned into a cult figure on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/trishlemoose/) but I was still surprised when someone on the other side of the world asked me if I'd make them one too! So this is Jeremy Bumble, the FAT BEE's impressionable young nephew... and he now lives in Portland, Oregan!

The original bee was one of the first toys I ever made so part of his cuteness comes down to the fact that he's not that well finished. I was concerned that, several years on, his nephew might have a more professional finish but perhaps lack the, er, 'rustic charm' but I needn't have worried because he turned out ridiculously CUTE! It was a sad, sad day when I waved him off at the airport but, if our daily Skype conversations are anything to go by, he's having a whale of a time in America! Miss you, Jeremy!

Thanks, Christine! It was really hard sending him off to the other side of the world!

@Trish Roberts: Nice to see the additional photo showing the two guys and reading their complete story. It's a bit strange when one of your creations leaves home! I have a couple of Oangutans in Virginia USA, I'm wondering whether it's appropriate to send them a Christmas card!!!

@Christine R: What I found interesting was how awkward I found the pattern the second time round. It's a wonder I ever finished the first bee all those years ago! And, yes, I'd say it's definitely appropriate to send them a Christmas card and perhaps a nice scarf each too!
