    About

    I was in the process of stopping Candle Making due to the upcoming closing of my business, and I needed 'something' to do with my time/hands/mind, so decided to take up knitting again (having not done any for about 35yrs). I spotted this as a sample garment in a local knitting shop, and thought how gorgeous it looked, so thought I would have a go. It's very easy to knit (Stocking Stitch), doesn't have very much shaping to contend with, and grows at a fairly decent rate (despite my slowness - it was done as and when I had time). It's knit on appx 6mm needles. I did struggle a little with making-up, as the pattern-stitch is quite open/holey, so it's probably best made-up using a back-stitch rather than matress stitch. I decided to leave little vent-slits at the waist seams and cuff seams as I'm considering adding little beaded adornments there. Overall I love it! It's so comfy and easy to wear, you just have to watch that you don't snag it on doorhandles, etc :o

    Notes: I made the jumper about 2" shorter than the pattern length suggested, as I'm not very tall and wanted it to be waist-length

      Ah thank you CraftyG i tgink it will convert to crocheting good enough. Now to hunt again for this pattern.

      I know this is a knitting pattern but i think i can also make it to crochet have done this before so gonna try again with this one.

        As it knitting pattern, it's all Stocking Stitch throughout, so if you're able to convert that to crochet, it should be straightforward :)

      It is really up my street the style and length and ive been in the crochet mode lately so on the look out for nice tops/tunics to work on. Love it.

        Hi Maureen. This pattern is fairly widely available on several websites. If you search "King Cole Opium - 3686" pattern, I'm sure you'll find it available somewhere :) It's a lovely garmet to wear, so easy & comfortable. I often wear it when travelling as it's great for changes of climate/temperature. Thank you for the lovely comment too :)

      I would like to purchase this pattern but don't see an option to do so. Anyone help please? Oh its lovely I like the way the bottom is swirly and the cowl neck is my fav of all necklines.
