I did three sets of pattern, 60 stitches, which was wide enough for a light weight scarf. Very easy pattern and nice how it is the same on both sides. I joined in new wool by knitting double along in the middle of a row, half way between two of the lacy rows then was able to do a tiny knot and hide the ends without having ends on the edge of the knitting. You can't see the double knitting in the garter stitch unless you know it's there and even then it's well hidden. (I think it was 3.5mm needles I used.)
