About

One of my favourite blankets to make (my fourth) this time using mainly the last of the yarn from the Carousel CAL. The yarn pack certainly spread a long way and I only have dribs and drabs left now. I did all the granny squares before going away on holiday and had a very relaxing time just joining them together and edging.

  Hi Vix how's it going in sunny Norfolk! What are you up to at the moment? I am going "off list" and doing a lotus flower blanket with my favourite scheepjes yarn at the moment. Then may finally get going on the Persian Tiles. :) x

  Great photo with your lovely kitty! And lovely GS blanket. I especially like how well you've mixed the lighter and darker colours together harmoniously. Do you have any special tips/tricks for weaving in ends and joining up? I find dealing with the ends to be the most challenging part - keeping things neat, keeping things strong so they won't unravel, and keeping myself sane!

  This blanket was done join as you go and I crochet in as much ends as possible but for these blankets I found weaving in the ends to the squares first, then joining ends after and try to do as much as you can as you go as an evening of weaving in IS boring. I did an uneven number of squares in each colour and them did in sets of colours which looks random but is still in a sort of pattern. This is one of my fav blankets. Hope this helps :)

  Beautiful Sarah. It looks lovely and warm. I'm guessing it was from Sue Pinner's Carousel?
  My cats always like to be in, on and under my blankets as I work then. Thankfully my friends and family don't mind the odd kitty hair here and there.

  Thank you the yarn from the Carousel blanket went so far and I have to say although it is a simple blanket it is one of my favourites and yes most of my work includes kitty fluff
