I've used that ever-so-adaptable Owl pattern again. This time I knitted it slightly longer than the pattern indicated and I inserted two narrow panels of 'claw' cabling about 8in apart both at the back and the front of the jumper. I used Wendy Serenity Chunky 'Mocha'. The colour of the jumper looks chocolate in dimmer light but daylight reveals a lovely orangey fleck running through it. I also put a panel of claw cabling up the centre of the sleeve, with the owl on top. At the base of the owl I extended the reverse stocking stitch 'platform' that the owl is sitting on.
The cabling on the jumper body is done upwards as follows:
1st row (right side): knit
2nd and 4th row: purl
3rd row: C4B, C4F
4th row: purl
As the sleeve is knit downwards from the shoulder, the cabling was done downwards (then it looks upwards from the cuff) as follows:
1st row (right side) knit
2nd row: purl
3rd row: C4F, C4B
4th row: purl
I also knitted myself some ankle warmers
