    I started this as a Christmas present last year for my daughters aged 9 and 10 (now 11!). One of them loves blue, so the suggested colours were fine; the other loves pink and purple so I changed it up. (Saves all the fighting over who's in whose tail, anyway!) Unfortunately, close to Christmas I always decide to make an extra present for my whole family, and I just couldn't manage these and seven scarves... Put on the back burner while I worked on other things, and I am now back at it. They are a surprise, so to my family they are "snake hats" - an in-joke because it's what I told my son I was making as I knitted his secret mittens in front of him one Christmas! I'll have to hide the blue one as I work on the pink, but they will be thrilled eventually... Update 25/03/18 - finished the blue one and handed it over; I have a different blanket on the go for my eldest so she has asked me to finish that first!
