    About

I'd had this magazine for some time but when my granddaughter saw the mermaid on the cover she asked for one. I added a small nose and mouth to the pattern as well as the starfish buttons in her hair and the pearl necklace and bracelet, as my granddaughter is nearly five years old, but for a younger child I would omit them. I used only small quantities of each yarn as you can imagine and the main part of the tail was in King Cole Glitz.

    Pattern

Pearl the Mermaid by Amanda Berry

    This pattern is from:
Issue 63 of LGC Knitting and Crochet

    Needles & Hooks

    • Single Point 4.50mm (US 7)

    Accessories

    • Stuffing
    • Stitch Holder
    • Tapestry Needle
    • Stitch Markers
Other : Two small black buttons, scraps of white felt and black sewing cotton

    Measurements

Notes: I knitted the tail on one size smaller needles than recommended in the pattern as I found the wool used made the fabric too loose. It didn't make much difference to the size which was approx. 28 cm
