    About

I loved making this lovey to match a larger blanket I had knit. I chose Cascade 220 Merino over Cascade 220 because I find it to be much softer for a baby. Another choice might be Plymouth Encore Worsted, a lovely cheaper yarn, but not as soft IMO.

The lovey was a quick knit. I used DPN needles for the animal parts. YOU may prefer using Magic Loop method.

I used embroidery floss over attaching safety eyes. The result came out nice I think. And I am assured of its safety for my precious grandson now.

Sewing on the ears was my only challenge. Use only a tiny bit of stuffing for a nicer "cupping" effect. Also, pattern called for ears to be sewn on 1 3/4" apart. I should have eyeballed it to more like 1 1/2" apart. My ears are a bit lopsided. It would have caused too many headaches to redo it. I sewed it very securely! The next one will be better!

I considered this to be an intermediate project due to needing to be familiar with DPNs. Happy knitting!
