For quite a while I've wanted to make myself a shawl in a certain shade of dark green-brown, but it took ages to find just the right colour yarn. I knew I wanted an unfussy lace pattern, and for it to be an asymmetric triangle: Mistral fit the bill perfectly and I'm really pleased with how it showcases the delicately variegated, shimmery yarn. (Unfortunately the photos don't do the yarn justice!)
My chosen yarn was finer than the recommended fingering weight, but I went up a needle size and did some extra repeats to make sure I used all the yarn up, so it actually ended up a good bit bigger than the pattern version.
