    About

    Pattern designed by Hanna Maciejewska.

I learned to knit 1.5 years ago, and after seven scarves, a hat, and a pair of boot toppers, I jumped heart-first into this cardigan. I've worked so hard and learned an INCREDIBLE amount on this piece. I learned how to swatch for gauge, how to block, and more about the art of picking up stitches. I learned how to join a new ball of yarn that isn't entirely animal fiber, how to waist-shape, and what laddering is and how to both prevent and fix it. I learned about how a knit texture of a yarn can be so different (and amazing) from the original skein feel. I have been learning how to fit my body with knitwear, I have been learning how clothing is constructed in knitwear, I have been learning about stitch theory (especially relating to design construction like cables) in general! Also, learning to knit while reading and walking. It's not done yet, but already it is a much-loved piece of clothing. I am so proud of this first cardigan journey.
