    About

My cousin is having her first baby and this blanket pattern is perfect for a modern nursery. I could only manage to get 4 balls of the cream Katia so I'm going to use some dark grey I had left over from another project. I love the colours the designer has chosen.

      Hi Angelica
Love your blanket and the colors, What pattern did you use to make this. I have a pattern from Buzybee for a moderne pattern but it joins up different to yours. I like how yours joins up.
      Thanks Di B

Thanks for the comment. The Buzybee pattern was the one I used but I did make some changes. I added the dark grey and used the template given in the pattern to change the colours around until I was happy.

I found a couple of tutorials on Pinterest, the first is on Knitty and the website is http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring04/mattress.html
and there is a good one on YouTube called Seaming garter stitch by Purl Soho.

Hi Kate, the colour codes are right. I'm not sure why 503 is coming up as red. I have double checked on the Katia website. I think they have it on the Deramores website. I used 3 balls 503 dark grey, 4 balls 3 off white, 7 balls 12 yellow and 6 ball of GGH Maxima 28 grey, you could substitute it with the Katia 505. Hope this helps.

      Dear Angelica,

      This knit looks fab.

Could I ask what colour codes you chose? The side bar says 3, 12 but then also 503 which is a red? Also, how many balls of each wool were required?

      Thanks
      Kate

Looks beautiful. I’ll have to add this one to my long list of things I would like to knit.

Stunning Bauhaus style patchwork result from varying up the triangles. Yes these mustard and greige colours are a current fashion seen everywhere, but are also classic modern choice, and work beautifully here. You have a great sensibility and eye for creating a good well balanced yet dynamic patternway, with points of emphasis, so it is not too repetitive, mechanical and bland. Sonia Delauney would be thrilled! Baby and sis should be too, lovely to see. All best!
