My Snowflower Sweater

I made this for Myself

    About

This was my first fair-isle sweater. I have no regrets going with the recommended yarn and colours. The wool has a sweet, sheepy scent with the odd fleck of straw, and knits up a surprisingly lightweight garment.
I went down a size to small for the sleeves to avoid bulk and did the optional waist shaping, I added an inch in length and bound off with the larger size needle as recommended.
    My gauge was right on.

Notes: I have narrow shoulders and thought the neck in medium might be a bit sloppy, but it fits fine with no modifications.

Lovely jumper. I hope to do one for myself sometime but I have too many grandchildren to knit for so I am last on the list.

Beautifully done. I just checked out the pattern and now I am going to be forced to learn how to do a provisional cast on, because this just seems like a terrific technique. Fair isle is best worked bottom up with decreases, but the body and sleeves are best worked top down for check-as-you-go sizing considerations. I have never heard of doing a sweater this way. Live and learn. Thanks for posting your project. Love your colors with just a touch of red for a little zip.
