    About

A terrible burn accident left both my hands badly burnt in 2015. Hospitalization, skin grafts, and then occupational therapy brought me to where I am today. The journey has not been easy. I had zero strength in my hands, my wrists were hard to bend, and my fingers totally stiff. My therapist asked what I liked to do best and I said "Knitting." Start knitting he said. That started my journey, and I couldn't even hold a spoon. Use thick needles, said my son. So with 13 mm needles, using double yarn of Woolease from Lionbrand, casting on 35 stitches, I started my throw taking inspiration from the colorful garter patches throw. It was painful, and my stiff finger joints refused to budge. However, after 5 months, I had eighteen 9 inch squares ready. Then taking inspiration from large cable throw, I added a side panel. It was done and in the process, my fingers improved and worked better and so did my wrists. Knitting is my passion and without it I would not have recovered as much as I have
