    When I was expecting my baby I thought it would be lovely to knit a nativity scene and every Christmas we could get it out in the big build up to the festivities. Well, year after year I never got round to it. I decided this year I would start my Christmas knitting in July and my first project would be the nativity scene. I finally finished it, only thing is my "baby" is now 25 and he recently flew the nest but I'm still very pleased with it and he can always visit us to admire it ????

    Other : I needed cocktail sticks & straws for the donkeys legs so it would stand up although these shouldn't be used if a child is going to play with it. I also used a pipe cleaner in the shepherds crook to give it, its shape.

      your nativity characters look charming. you have inspired me - I too thought that would be lovely to do - I now have a grandchild on the way perhaps for them? Christmas here we come!

        Thank you, I'm sure your grandchild would love it. Jean Greenhowe does a nativity scene pattern book too which is quite nice.
