My Neighbour is expecting a new grandchild. Not sure yet whether it is to be a baby boy or girl. So I plan to make two cardigans one for a boy and one for a girl. This is the first one. I think the colour and buttons would suit either sex, however I have on this one put the buttons on the girls side.
This is a very easy pattern to follow. It is quick to knit and I think It would be ideal for a beginner to try. Also I think the style is very contemporary for the modern baby. The pattern is for sport thickness yarn, although easy to get on line, not always readily available in shops in the UK. The yarn I have used on this occasion is a thinnish baby double knit. I used smaller needles 3.74 mm to get the correct tension.
