    About

I wanted to make a bright knitted toy for my best friend's baby daughter who just turned one year old. This bunny pattern immediately struck me because of the gorgeous colourway of the Noro yarn. As there are 8 pieces to make up the bunny, and the ball I picked contained a lot of blue, I divided it up into smaller balls of different colours so I could get a decent spread throughout the limbs, body, head and ears. The small amount of black in the yarn gave me enough to stitch eyes and a mouth. I found the yarn quite irregular and the rough texture makes knitting quite tricky (lots of friction) - there's lots of increasing in the pattern to get the rounded shapes, and the stitches can get very tight. However I loved the overall texture and colours, I was really happy with how it came out.

What fabulous ears for a little girl to haul this bunny around with. I can see this becoming a favourite companion.
