    I saw the pattern for a crochet that "looks like knitting" on the LoveCrochet/LoveKnitting blog - I don't really get the point of imitating knit stitches in crochet (I find it easier/more effective to knit when that's the effect I want) but I did like the hat so I decided to make it anyway. The crochet rib is stretchier than I expected but not as good as "real" knitted rib, and it curls up at the edges so I'd probably knit the band another time & crochet the main part.
