    About

When I was eight years old, I had an old grandma type angel from Yugoslavia that lived in the apartment downstairs. She used to take care of me while my single mom worked two jobs to provide for us. She is the one who taught me to knit. After six hip replacement, I have been left disabled and in bed several hours a day with my little puppy and my knitting. I have had my leg almost torn off during the first hip replacement and severe nerve damage took place. Well they were able to reattach nerves so I could walk again, the pain is excruciating. Knitting helps me so much. When the pain becomes unbearable and anxiety from it kicks in, I retreat to my bedroom and grab my knitting. It helps me refocus off the nerve pain, taking my mind on to creating something beautiful, all while resting quietly in bed. One day I hope to help others suffering from pain or even anxiety to do the same. I hope to post videos of slow knitting, while just gently talking with words of love and encouragement.

Hi Cheri, your knitting is lovely I am glad it is helping you with your pain and giving you something to help when your pain is too much. I am actually going through something similar with nerve pain after hip replacement and fusion in my spine and I find resting and doing my knitting helps me as I can focus on my knitting and try and take my mind off the pain. I also feel like I am still able to create things and that helps. I hope you do manage to post videos that help, other people as well.
