    About

This is the second time I've made these 'dorm boots.' The pattern is well-written, and easy to modify. I made a longer cuff on this pair so that they'd be even cozier. The only tricky part was figuring out a way to divide a full skein of yarn into four even balls, because you knit this pattern with two strands of yarn at a time (2 strands x 2 boots = 4 balls). I ended up counting the loops on my yarn swift, dividing by four, and then starting a new ball after the required number of revolutions. (see photo) As the pattern designer suggested, I treated part of the sole of the boots with Plasti-Dip (available from you local hardware store).

    Needles & Hooks

    • Single Point 5.50mm (US 9) 33cm

    Accessories

    • Stitch Markers
    • Tapestry Needle
Other : Plasti-Dip spray for the sole (to give the finished boots a better grip on the floor)

    Measurements

Notes: I made size XL. I chose to use a contrasting color (and different yarn) for the sole, because the first time I made this pattern, I didn't have enough of the top color for a long cuff.
