My daughter doesn't like to put sweaters on so I made a poncho and she loves it! I just cast on the same number of stitches for the neckline as I did for the hat, using straight needles to start as there were too few stitches to knit in the round. 4 rows Moss stitch, then divide number of stitches by 4 and place markers. Stocking stitch; on either side of each marker, increase by one (thats two increases per marker) every knit row. Once the work is long enough to work in the round, change to round needles and continue until work is just short of the wrists of your subject. Change to Moss stitch 4 rows (continuing with the increases) and cast off.
