    About

I love this pattern and the colour range of Paintbox Yarns, so I decided to give this one a go. I do not normally knit in acrylic or Aran/10ply yarn so it is a bit of a trial to see how it wears and how suitable/comfortable it is for wearing for a little girl. It feels more like a winter jacket in this weight, and I had next winter in mind which is Dec-Mar where Sarah lives. I found it more difficult to sew up neatly than I expected in this thicker yarn and with it knitted in garter stitch, but I am pleased with it now! I used a bigger sized knitting needle to get the correct gauge. I ended up knitting three tension squares with 4.5mm, 5.0mm and 6.00mm needles, and settling on 6.00mm / UK 7 knitting needles and knitting one size up to get the garment measurements to work out. It was quite challenging to choose seven colours that I hoped would go well together from a laptop screen when you cannot lay the balls of yarn side by side. I ended up sending for one change in colour!

hi...i'm making this sweater and i'm wondering if you had to weave the stripe ends into the buttonhole side of the sweater on the right front. the stripe ends on the left side weave into the side seam...but i can't get the right side to work out so the ends would weave into the side seam. i'm concerned that you will see the weaving in on the front of the sweater. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I love garter stitch - and this looks amazing in the colours you have chosen. The buttons complement it nicely too. Well done!

I've got this pattern and was thinking of making it, and after seeing yours, I definitely will. I am rubbish at picking colours, I think that is one of the reasons I haven't attempted it yet, but your colours are very inspiring, so thank you for sharing!
