Hi Michelle I hated the rose buds and nearly threw it out into the fields 🙄once I got passed them I was ok, I think the wording in the pattern is the problem I lost count how many times I had to re read it, it’s not one I’ll rush back to
My mother in law is trying this pattern and finding the bit after the rosebuds very confusing, she's doing the 4th size...any help would be appreciated :-)
Normally if you want to extend ,the sleeve length you can add extra rows after the increase for the sleeve width but before the armhole shaping - I hopethis helps you
FYI I knitted the pattern as printed
From the pattern “Inc 1 st at each end of next and foll 8 [3: 0: 0] alt rows, then on 2 [7: 11: 5] foll 4th rows, then on 0 [0: 0: 6] foll 6th rows.
47 [49: 53: 55] sts.
Work 3 [3: 5: 5] rows, ending with a ws row. “
Just check you have increased 1 stitch at each end of every other row 8 times
Then you have increased 1 stitch at each end of the next 4th row and the following 4th row
Then work 3 rows without increasing
27 rows from the rib and before the arm hole shaping - I didn’t think the pattern was written as clearly as it might have been but this might help you
@Theresa S: I’m sure it will, I don’t know how long you’ve been knitting for but we all start at the same point and carry on learning with each new project don’t forget to post a picture and share your achievements J
@Jayne V: How did you get this done? I am trying to make size 0-3 months. I can't figure out how many rows to make. It looks so small. Pls help me. Tky

@Regina H: looking at the photo there are about 26 rows from the buds to the bottom of the hearts - i’ll Get the pattern out tomorrow and try and help with your other query - 5he jacket is now with Ivy the June baby x
@Regina H: I take it you’re working The back first
After completing the rosebud pattern
There are about 26 rows of stocking stitch you should then have the rs facing to start following the chart for the hearts at row 1 work row 1 and 2 of heart pattern
At the beginning of row 3 on the heart pattern decrease 1 stitch
Do the same on row 9 and 15 of the heart pattern
Work row 16 of the heart pattern
Then work two more rows
Then start the shaping for the armholes
Hope this helps
