Maisie, despite only having just turned four, starts big school in September. The school uniform is purple, which isn't easy to get in the supermarkets, so I said I would knit a cardigan for her. It was SO hard to find a true purple of the right shade and I wasted a lot of money on false starts. But in the end I found the exact colour from King Cole. (This is where internet wool buying doesn't work!). I actually hated knitting this! It seemed to go on for ages and the sewing up process was excruciating. Also the wool is stiff, producing a really curled up piece of knitting. I don't think she will wear it, even though it says it is is 'anti-tickle'. I was left with the TINIEST scrap of wool left - very scary!! Update - she won't wear it, and I don't blame her - the wool IS scratchy. What a very expensive waste of money!!
