A satisfying knit in a surprisingly simple pattern!
This one-piece shawl was worked vertically in rows from corner-to-corner. Although it looks like complicated colorwork, both the Corrugated Rib body and the Garter Chevron border were made using a single color per row. And through the use of a stitch marker, the patterns were easily demarcated throughout.
To begin, stitches were cast on at the left corner and then regularly increased at the neck edge until the full depth was achieved. Then, the body was worked in an easily-memorized 4-row repeat for the remainder with both end stitches slipped every other row for a nice, neat selvedge.
I love the “pop” of color that peeks through the border and enjoy a simple pattern that looks more complicated than it really is. I also think this would be striking as a larger wrap in bulky grey wool with a progressive rainbow of contrasting stripes.
