    About

Having learned the gender of the new arrival I was told by her mother not to knit anything pink. It is harder than you think to find a colour for a newborn (due in early summer) that has individuality but not bows, ruffles or is pink! Think I cracked this one though...
Designed for use in the summer to go over a delightful hand made romper suit in sheep black/white print it will be great to pop on in the evenings or during the day if our British summer decides to stay true to form! This was so quick to knit I completed it in a week.
Top down knit with circular needles for the sleeves...I managed to find the smallest wire for the circular needles and didnt have a problem knitting in the round.
I also used straight needles rather than the suggested circular ones as it it not knitted in the round (apart from the sleeves) and I like the feel of the garment on the needles.

Notes: I am an average tension knitter and rarely have problems but this was knitted in the reccommended DK and the 10" back length didnt seem to fit the required cast on stitches. It is more of a jacket length than a cardigan but I didnt mess with the pattern.

It is an iron on aplique so I had to be extra careful when ironing it on but it worked well.
