    About

With the beautiful weather upon us, I wanted something pretty to throw over my shoulders as the evenings turn cooler. I wanted it to be versatile enough to wear on the beach to protect myself from sunburn and heavy enough to withstand those coastal breezes.
When I saw this yarn, I instantly knew it was going to be all that I wanted for such a design! Although spun from 100% wool, Pembroke Worsted handles like cotton and has the most amazing drape when blocked. Its sturdy composition means that I don't have to worry about sand clinging to the fibres, so my new shawl is proving to be a complete all-round Summer must-have!
The pretty lace edging is fun to work - easy to memorise but interesting at the same time. It forms jolly waves to frame the shaped edge. The straight edge incorporates a clever slipped stitch detail which ensures that it won't curl of distort.
I'll definitely be making another one of these soon!

I made it as a gift for my neighbour in mint green and it was beautiful.

It was instantly a "must do next, and must have" when I saw this lovely pattern. Ordering it tonite including the yarn! Hubby may be discouraged when he sees the pink bag arrive (been trying to work thru my expanding stash) but I'll promise to donate some other yarn to the womens shelter... my personal favorite place to donate my blankets and cowls I make as well as yarn and needles ). Anxious to begin this timely pattern.

Thanks, Alison, I was nervous about the colour until I saw it in the flesh, but it's lovely, isn't it? Just the right level of pop!
