    I love making cute fun toys to mix it up between larger projects.
    I started making the eyes in white, as in the pattern, but wasn't happy with the contrast, so looked up owl photos & decided to use the yellow I bought for the beak instead (as many owls have yellow eyes!) & dark grey scrap yarn for the beak. He's a bit spookier than the original, just in time for Halloween!
    I knit the project flat as stated in the pattern, using circular needles; I find circular needles more portable for smaller projects.
