A hat to go with the Yonbao wrap/scarf (see links in comments), for my mum.
I would have liked to use the Yonbao pattern repeat in this, but couldn’t figure out the construction and/or direction of knitting from the Cold Brook pattern instructions :/
Used German Short Row instead of W&T. Yarn held double throughout.
1 photo shows the flat (single layer) of knitted fabric, to clarify layout/working-format before conversion into a tubular hat.
The Short Rows within each Wedge create fullness for the crown of the head - markers show all turning points.
I’ve adjusted the size around the head (brim cirumference required around head) by only doing 4 & 1/2 Wedges instead of 5, as my Mother has a smaller than average sized head. The ‘brim band’ shown along the bottom edge of the piece in the ‘layout photo’ will be folded to the inside and stitched in place.
Final brim circumference with brim band sewn into place is 21” (unstretched).
