    My friends daughter is popping over to Sydney from NZ bringing her 7 month daughter Mila with her, so I decided to make a little cardigan for her, as this will be the first time I have met the baby.

        Thanks Vix, I made the 12 month size, but she is a big girl - her dad is 6'8" & her Mum nearly 6'. So I have decided to knit any future garments 2 sizes larger than her age!

        Heather, it’s sold at Spotlight. I first saw it on here, someone had knitted up a scarf. It’s $14 a ball, that makes one babies garment. They have a few different colours. It’s a nice yarn to knit with.

        @Heather L: No, I knit it up as a 4 ply. It has exact tension of Patons Dreamtime Merino 4 ply & Patons Big Baby 4 ply, which is what the pattern recommends. It is also machine washable.

        Thank you Sonya, it was sheer luck with the buttons, I happened to have them left over from another project and unbelievably the exact number I needed, most unusual. I am the person who always seems to have to buy a card of buttons when I only need one to make up the number I need.

        All good, had to put it aside to knit this cardi as meeting Mila on Wednesday. I have told other half not to expect jumper until next year.
