Usual rounded toe, co 14, Inc to 30 stitches per needle.
Plain foot. Inc to 36 stitches each on foot needle from 6 inches. Do FLK heel at 7.25 inches, using 10/10/10 split on heel. Inch of plain stockinette around leg, increasing at back over 6 rows to 36 stitches then start pattern.
Completed foot and heel on first sock. It’s a bit tight over the instep. The second sock I’ll increase up to 36 on the sole as well as the instep, and keep the heel to 30 stitches, as that fits fine.
04/10/16: made some mistakes on the leg. Whilst I’d normally ignore these sort of things, I’m not happy with the overall fit of this sock, so I’m going to frog it and start again. This time:-
CO 14, inc to 32 for rounded toe.
Foot pattern: k1, (k3,p2)rep, k1
Inc to 36 stitches per needle at 6 inches, every other row
FLK heel at 7.5 inches (7.25 is just too short) using center 32 stitches.
A good inch and a half plain at the back of the heel, then start pattern - in the end I did 2 colour repea
