I adapted the pattern from a cowl I made, which is also on the site. The pattern was in a women’s magazine and used James C Brett Amazon Super Chinky wool.
Basically you cast on a multiple of 4 stitches plus three, so I used 13 x 4 + 3 to make 55. The foundation row is: (Tr, ch 2, 2tr) in 3rd chain from hook. *skip next three sts, (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) in next stitch* repeat from * to * to end.
The second row is then repeated over and over as follows: Ch3 (counts as treble) turn *(2tr, ch2, 2tr) in next chain space. * repeat from * to * to end. Treble in last stitch.
Then just continue until you are happy with the length.

Good luck! Let me know how it goes.
