Swallowtail Wrap

    About

A bias-crocheted wrap with pointed ends. I saw a similar knitted pattern, and did research to figure out how I could achieve the same effect with crochet. I did an increase on one end, and decrease on the other, creating equal points on each side. I used a very fine yarn, so this took me a long time. Blocking was essential to a good end result, as was doing an edge around the entire wrap. I used a light fingering yarn of fine merino wool and silk.

Lee - I didn't use a pattern. I chained the approximate length I wanted (with this lightweight yarn it was about 200 chain), and used all half double crochet. I decreased by 2 on one end (half double crochet 2 stitches together, turn, then half double crochet two stitches together again), and increased on the other end (2 half double crochets in one stitch, turn, then two half double crochet in one stitch again). This created the points. If you google "bias crochet scarf" you'll find written and video tutorials. Hope that helps!
