My friend wanted a dress for a Bear that had been bought from Build A Bear Workshop; it is his personal mascot for Leeds United Football Club. I adapted an old doll's dress pattern by extending the length and width, and making the armholes longer. I didn't add a sleeve; instead I knitted a picot edge, like the hem and neck.
I also sewed together the back seam, up to the waistband, instead of adding buttons all the way down the edge. I added a teddy bear shaped button and crocheted a loop to receive the button on the other side of the opening.
