    About

I'm in Australia so it isn't Summer here, thankfully, as otherwise it would have been a bit hot to make this project :)
This was made as a wedding gift for my nephew.
I did have to change the hook size - I used a 6mm hook rather than the 7mm nominated in the pattern in order to get the right size squares.
In addition, I found I had insufficient merino yarn to complete the joining of the squares and the outside border and had to buy more yarn for that purpose. Because the merino yarn was temporarily unavailable I then decided to buy a different yarn (300m) for that purpose and used a different method for the joining and outside border.
In addition, the pattern had a lot of left over yarn and next time I would purchase 400g of the main colour, and 100g each of the other three colours for the squares (22 in main colour, and 6 each in other colours to make the 40 squares).

This crochet throw blanket is stunning. Its got a fab vintage look about it. I really like how you have joined the squares and the border, I think it looks amazing! I am a knitter but thinking more and more I need to start crocheting!!
