    About

My son and his partner want to travel around in a campervan. My mother died quite recently and we used money she left towards buying it. They wanted something to brighten it up so I showed them some squares I had crocheted and they chose colours from them for me to knit a throw with a Mexican look, hence the vivid result! I made the squares into a cushion cover. I know I'm going to miss them very much when they go - to be honest, in a way, I'm rather dreading it - but it's what they want to do and I know I'll get to go in the van sometimes, as well! My throw will go to all kinds of places and they're going to send lots of photos.
It's all in garter stitch and I used chunky, acrylic yarn which comes in lovely, bright colours and is easily washable. I had to be patient over the sewing up, to align the rows, and, oh! the ends to weave in! Sizewise it's massive because I used chunky but it's just right for where it is. I'm also knitting a lime green stuffed cactus to stick on with velcro!
