    About

I found a ball of tiger print yarn in a shop in Leominster, and eventually found a pattern to use with it. It's a bear/tiger/cat/whatever you want, super warm and soft with fun ear flaps.

    Pattern

    'Owl Be There' animal hat

This pattern can be found here:

    Yarns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 6.00mm (US 10) 60cm

    Accessories

    • Tapestry Needle
    • Stitch Holder
    • Stitch Markers

    Measurements

Notes: The hat is knitted in the round with ear flaps encorporated, then the plaits and ears are made separately and attached. I had to knit a test square to work out which size of the pattern to follow, and ended up doing the 'Thick and quick' version in Medium with 6mm needles (smaller than the recommended 6.5mm but what I had in my bag). Once I got going it was a quick make and nice finish, stretchy and a good fit for a toddler.
