    About

Pattern from Patons (Australian) Babytime Book (1970s), Cardigan No.6. Bonnet & bootees adapted to suit cardigan pattern. Knitted in vintage (Australian) Cleckheaton Baby 4ply, which is deliciously super soft. Pattern has been reprinted in many books, and could be knitted in any soft baby 4 ply. Garments could also have done with an iron before I posted the pic :)

I have used this pattern many times over the years but mostly in pastels looks good in the red.

Yes, it’s a great pattern - I just had this red baby wool in a bulk lot I bought and this pattern looked like it would work with such a strong colour.

Thank you! Pattern is fun to knit and the yoke is knitted in one piece (no seams above the armholes).

Another gorgeous set you have knitted. I do love the vintage patterns and I have managed to pick up so many from Op shops everywhere.

Yes me too - I am a terror for trawling through vintage knitting patterns at Op Shops and I also buy a lot through online auctions.
