    About

I loved making this sweater. It is the first top-down sweater I've done and I don't think I will ever knit one any other way. The pattern was spot on accurate and I love the mixture of lace and rib edges. The design is current with the trendy longer front and very feminine. I used Katia Merino Baby fingering yarn in 100% super wash, extra fine merino, and will try it again with a lighter weight yarn as well. I'll be wearing this all winter!

Hi I love this sweater but am stuck on increases to shoulder and front. It says to repeat row twice and then says for one row to only increase once. The increase of 14[4/10] each front and 20 stc for the back so so confused and don’t know how to contact the designer.

i am in the process of knitting this - I love the knitting down system too. Am finding it an easy pattern to follow and enjoying the knit. I will show the result when I finish. Am using B C Garn Semilla extra fino (bought for another garment which I undid as I didn't like it.)

I have bought the yarn for this cardigan but it looks way too complicated please can you suggest another lace cardigan pattern which would work with yarn? Thanks

Can anyone help me with this pattern. I am doing if for size XXL (which also covers L and XL). I am on page 6 and have finished the second set of increases and placed the SLM markers. However the pattern now states that I should have six more stitches than I do without showing where these increases come from! So instead of 20 sts in each front I have only 17. Help x

I'm being ambitious here, it's a more difficult pattern than I've ever tried. I'm just wondering if the is a way to make the eyelet edge go all the way around instead of just on the right edge as I don't plan to have buttons?

I added it to mine for the same reason. I made it over a year ago so I don’t partucularly remember how I did it, but I remember it being pretty easy by just mirroring what was on the other side. As I’m not the designer, I wouldn’t presume to re-write the pattern! Perhaps she can help if you reach out to her? Good luck - it’s a very well-written pattern - just take it step by step. It was my most difficult to date as well, but I had no problems at all and I love the end result. Happy knitting!

Hi, Is the lace pattern a cable pattern....do you need a cable needle? Or is a simpler repetitive lace pattern. Thanks, Cathy

Hi Cathy, you don't need a cable needle. The pattern is available on loveknitting.com (not my design, but you can search for it by name -"Whippet Sweater"). I really liked it and have plans to knit another soon!

Sleeves look extra long, did you adjust the pattern?

Hi Donna, I followed the pattern but should have tried the sleeves on before finishing! I'll be taking at least 3" off the cuff.
