Hello, thanks for your question. I am using the yarn that is recommended with the pattern, when I bought the pattern there was the option to purchase materials so instead of pink I choose white. You’re right the pink does look thicker, the yarn I was sent is more of a cotton plus because it’s all bunched up on the needle it does look a bit different. When I’ve finished I’ll put another photo up.
