    About

I made this hat last year right at the end of the winter season, but felt that I didn't have enough experience to make the cowl. I was put off by the I-cord cast on. The little gremlin on my shoulder was like, that's only for experienced knitters, theres no way that you can do that. Well I showed the gremlin! Albeit almost 12 months later. An icord cast on and cast off is dead simple, and cables are easy too. I loved this project and I loved the result. Whilst I do love some of the scarves I have made, this set is perfect for standing on those cold train platforms whilst the wind whistles around you. No scarf unwinding and whipping in your face, just a nice cosy neck and if it gets too bad the face can be snuggled down into the top of it! For me this was a project of immense satisfaction - so much so I almost want winter to last so I can keep wearing it...and then I remember my beautiful summer shawls!
