The wool and alpaca yarn is nice and cozy, perfect for the Canadian winter. The garment has great all-around wearability for a work-from-home mother of 3, who goes from uploading a presentation for a foreign client to wiping the kitchen counter in 10 sec flat. The only thing missing from it was a pocket. I added one, just big enough to fit my child's library card that was just lying around, awaiting to get lost for good.
This is the kind of project that helps my sanity. Choosing the colourway allowed me to use my creativity, an important part of keep up with who I am. The KAL was a good opportunity to make new like-minded friends, some of whom I'm still in contact with. Knitting gives me something worthwhile to do while I'm at the dance studio with my kids, while I wait (anxiously) for an answer from a client, or just something to occupy my hands when I take part in a phone conference. And, the FO gives me the joy of having made something useful, something I can wear and enjoy.
