    About

I have written and uploaded a pattern for this blanket on Ravelry - it's straightforward, quick and fun to knit. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/zig-zag-fireside-blanket

I try to make a blanket for friends' special birthdays - but ended up with two falling within a fortnight, so I wondered if I could simplify my favourite Lizard Ridge to be able to produce a blanket more quickly - turns out I could. I knitted the blanket in 4 panels, each of 6 'squares' and it came together really quickly. I alternated 3 variegated wools (Drops Big Delight in Lava, Berry & Sunset), pairing them for each square with a warm-coloured aran yarn. Each square takes a little under 50g yarn - so every 50g ball features twice in the blanket.
The finished blanket weights 1kg and measures 175x130cm.
