I tried the tea cosy pattern for a second time - with a lighter weight yarn (4 instead of 7), and smaller needles - same pattern, same number of sts cast on - and the size ended up perfect for my small (2 cup) teapot. This was a good lesson in gauge!
I could use some practice with joining seams…I thought I was a decent hand-sewer, but I find it’s much more difficult to seam nicely with yarn than it is with fabric and thread. I would be afraid to make a sweater, for fear that I’d ruin it when it came time to join up the seams!
