    About

I thought this would be a pretty summer cardigan being made of cotton but the double layering of cotton around the main body did make it quite heavy for summer I felt. It was quite a challenge to sew up the double part neatly but perseverance paid off in the end!! It did look lovely on Sarah. I also choose this pattern because of the larger neck size as I have found that many little childrens' patterns have very small neck sizes!

It's designed to be a shorter summer cardigan. I did originally knit it for Hannah, my older granddaughter, but by the time I visited her overseas it really fitted her younger sister Sarah best! I think I knitted the 2-3 size and Sarah was nearly two. The girls are quite tall and I am quite a tight knitter! I have learnt to increase my needle size to get a more accurate pattern sizing since then! It's also hard to estimate sizes when the girls live so far away.

Well done, I'd say! And lovely color combination. Which size did you make for (which age of) your granddaughter? Because the cardigan on the patten model looks way too short...
