    About

I love knitting. To me it's an art form, a way of expressing my personality through colour, pattern and texture. My little squares started as a jumper and evolved into a cardigan, hat and mitts because I just love the colours and the design. I use 4ply so I can create lots of detail and I also set myself the challenge of sourcing good quality yarns ti complete each garment. I search local charity shops and scrap recycling stores for gems and have been known to contact spinning and dyeing mills directly; living in Yorkshire is definitely an advantage and could explain why knitting is in my blood.
Knitting improves my maths skills, working out how much yarn I'll need, how many stitches to cast on and how to make a garment fit which means I'm completely absorbed and able to escape from life's issues which have been very challenging for me lately. A finished garment like my little squares jumper has many admirers but it's me who's the happy knitter and wearer.
